Arizona Training School Underway!

We’re proud to get the new Laborers Training School in Arizona underway. With SCDCL and the dedication of Local 1184 and The Laborers Training and Re-Training Trust of Southern California and Arizona (The Laborers Training School), this project is about building opportunities for Laborer Apprentices and Journeypersons in Arizona as we grow and support the construction industry in Arizona. Together, we’re growing and investing in the next generation of skilled Laborers, and strengthening the foundation for Arizona’s workforce and communities.

28th Annual Mike Quevedo Sr. Scholarship Golf Tournament

We’re proud to share that the 28th Annual Mike Quevedo Sr. Scholarship Golf Tournament raised over $536,000 to support the children of Southern California Laborers. With over 130 scholarships awarded this year, our Union family continues to invest in education and build a brighter future for the next generation.

LIUNA at the California State Capitol

SCDCL joined LiUNA members and representatives at the State Capitol to support AB 1034, a bill that benefits both workers and contractors by streamlining dispute resolution on job sites. This legislation ensures fairer outcomes for workers while helping contractors avoid costly legal battles—strengthening accountability and efficiency across the industry.

Labor Day 2025: United in Strength

Labor Day 2025: United in Strength SCDCL and Locals 1309, 300, 652, 724, and 1414 marched together in the 45th Annual Labor Solidarity Parade and Rally to celebrate the strength and unity of our union. Local 724 announced a new partnership with Production Assistants United, showing the future of labor is growing. Special thanks to Local 1309 for hosting and leading with true solidarity.
