The Southern California District Council of Laborers (SCDCL) welcomed Lola Smallwood-Cuevas as union leaders from across Southern California came together to strengthen coordination, strategy, and solidarity.
Hosted by Jon P. Preciado, Business Manager of SCDCL, alongside Joe Cruz, Executive Director of the California State Council of Laborers, and Ernesto J. Ordoñez, Business Manager of the Pacific Southwest Region, the meeting brought together business managers and representatives from across our union family.
Together, we reaffirmed our shared commitment to dignity, stability, and opportunity for working families, and to strengthening the labor movement across California.
As Senator Smallwood-Cuevas reminded us:
“When we come together with a shared vision and a shared strategy and we put resources behind it, there’s nothing that can stop working people. There’s nothing that can stop unions. There’s nothing that can stop LIUNA.”
