The 29th Annual Mike Quevedo Sr. Scholarship Golf Tournament showed exactly who we are—a union committed to investing in the next generation.
Led by Jon P. Preciado, Business Manager of the Southern California District Council of Laborers (SCDCL) and Chairman of the Scholarship Fund, and supported by our Local Unions, partners, and industry allies, this year’s tournament raised more than $780,000 for the Mike Quevedo Sr. Scholarship Fund—our strongest year yet.
The event began with the Hall of Fame Sponsors Dinner, honoring the partners whose commitment makes this scholarship possible. That generosity continued on the course, where a full field and a record-setting raffle raising nearly $24,000 pushed this year’s impact even higher.
We are especially grateful to the Guy Yocom Family Foundation for their extraordinary $200,000 contribution, a gift that will expand the number of students supported and increase future scholarship awards.
We were also proud to welcome special guests Tyler Ankrum, driver of the No. 18 LIUNA Truck, and Joseph Lucero, who joined our union family, contractors, sponsors, and supporters in celebrating education and opportunity.
This tournament is more than an annual event—it is a reflection of our values. SCDCL and LIUNA believe in lifting up our members and their families, opening doors, and investing in the future together.
Thank you to every sponsor, donor, volunteer, and player who made this milestone year possible.
