Laborers Rising at Local 1309
SCDCL hosted a Laborers Rising Foundation Class at Local 1309 in Long Beach, led by SCDCL Representative Rick Smiles, Organizing Coordinator Ralph Velador, and our team of coordinators.
The training focused on who we are as Laborers, why we organize, and what it means to build power together. Members spoke directly about opportunity, supporting their families, building a future for their children, and standing shoulder to shoulder with people they can rely on.
Laborers Rising is about LIUNA members organizing to build power. We strengthen our Union by building community, sharing knowledge, and lifting the next generation.
Together, we rise for fair pay, safe jobs, and respect.
