SCDCL teamed up in Sacramento at the State Capitol with representatives from Southern California and Northern California, alongside our Legislative Team from the California State Council of Laborers, to show support for a new Bill (AB 1034) that benefits both LiUNA and contractors. The large contingent of LiUNA members and representatives walked the Halls of the State Capitol and attended the Senate Labor Committee hearing where they spoke in support of the Bill.For LiUNA, this law means quicker resolution of issues if something goes wrong at the jobsite by eliminating the plaintiff lawyers which will result in settlements that benefit the affected worker and not the plaintiff lawyer!For contractors, the new law offers a fairer process, making it easier to address issues quickly and avoid costly legal battles. It encourages everyone to follow the rules and keeps the focus on building strong, safe, and efficient workplaces.This is a win-win for everyone in our industry. Together, we’re making sure the job gets done right, efficiently and with fairness on all sides.
