SCDCL returned after the weekend to continue providing support to communities affected by the Eaton Fire, delivering more clean water with assistance from Locals 300, 724, and 345.We remain committed alongside our Local Unions to serve the people in our community. For the past four years, Local 300 has proudly hosted a food giveaway every second Tuesday to support families in need. Recognizing the increased demand for food due to the fire, SCDCL, Local 300 and our partners worked together to increase distribution, providing enough food to feed 1,200 people. The food included essential items such as fresh produce, proteins, canned goods, cheese, and more. This effort was made possible through the incredible collaboration of Local 300 Business Manager and LIUNA Vice President Sergio Rascon, staff, retirees, and active members from Local 300 and members of LIUNA Local 724; Norma Lopez and the team from Labor Community Services; staff from the LA County Federation of Labor; Armando Loza and his team from the Miguel Contreras Foundation; members of IATSE Animation Guild Local 839 and NUHW; Teamsters Local 399 Hollywood members; and several dedicated community volunteers who contributed their time and energy.Together, SCDCL and its affiliates remain committed to demonstrating that union values extend beyond the job site and into the heart of our communities.
