Labor Day 2025: United in Strength

September 6, 2024

This year’s Labor Day celebration was all about unity, strength, and solidarity. Together, the Southern California District Council of Laborers (SCDCL), Local 1309, Local 300, Local 652, Local 724, and Local 1414 marched side by side to honor the incredible work that Laborers do every day. Several Locals coming together to march and participate in the 45th Annual Labor Solidarity Parade and Picnic Rally on Labor Day was a powerful reminder of our shared mission to fight for workers' rights, uphold dignity on the job, and create opportunities for all. At the Rally, Local 724 and Business Manager Alex Aguilar announced an exciting new collaboration with Production Assistants United, who joined us in the march and are now working to organize their members. This is another step in building the future of organized labor in Southern California. A special thank you to Local 1309 for their continued leadership and dedication. Their commitment to hosting and standing strong with their brothers and sisters reflects the true spirit of solidarity that drives the labor movement forward. Local 1309 continues to be a shining example of the unity, strength, and pride that defines LIUNA and the Southern California District Council of Laborers, and we are proud to work alongside them as we build a brighter future together. Stay tuned for more stories of the incredible impact our members make every day!
