Keyboard Shortcuts for www.SCDCL.com
In an effort to make the Southern California District Council of Laborers web site accessible to everyone, this site has been designed using standards for web accessibility. These standards include the use of CSS to define the appearance of the pages so that pages may be viewed in HTML, without images or formatting for the visually impaired and those visitors using screen readers.
Additionally, tab indices have been set to create a logical tab order for links, as well as assigning access keys, where possible, to help those with keyboard-only ability. Below is a list of shortcuts incorporated into the overall site, as well as page-specific shortcut keys. These shortcuts are additionally denoted in the pages by an underline beneath the shortcut character (e.g., the shortcut key for the History menu item is "i").
Please note that keyboard shortcut functionality is available in the following browsers by pressing the Alt button and shortcut character simultaeously (Ctrl button and shortcut character in MAC): Firefox 1.0 and above, Internet Explorer 5.0 and above, and Netscape 6 and above. Unfortunately, support for this feature in America Online is limited, if available at all; however, all links may be tabbed in order.
